I was once a hardcore boy –I think that much must be clear by now, and I hardcore danced to Attack Attack! like most of us did at the time. Yeah, we didn't know crabcore was going extinct soon, until it all ended and Attack Attack! was no more. But hey, when good things end, they lay the foundation for better things.

Later, we got Bilmuri. With the death of AA! I felt hopeless, but Johnny Franck brought us a gift from the music gods and decided to single handily carry a new music scene on his shoulders. With a really cool mix of guitar riffs, chill vocals and energy bursts here and there, Johnny proved to me that things get better as you mature and grow out of what you thought was your prime.

The song of this week is the collaboration of Bilmuri and Dance Gavin Dance's –now ex–vocalist Tillian Pearson, bringing the robot references up and heavenly vocal tones to the max. This song is about insecurities and trust issues when in a relationship, which is something I think we all can relate to. It ends up with a breakdown, so take that as you wish.

Lyrics (via Genius)

[Verse 1: Johnny Franck]
Can I hold it? Broken under the weight
Did you make me just to hurt me?
Drain the blood from my body
Why am I here if all I feel is pain
When the good feels so fragile like it's fighting to stay?

[Chorus: Johnny Franck]
Are you trying to hurt me 'cause it feels like I can't escape?
Don't see an explanation, it just looks like you're gonna leave
'Cause I'm dying to know that I'm not alone
And I'm dying to see if you're gonna go
Are you trying to hurt me or can you take the pain
Take the pain away?

[Verse 2: Tilian]
Calm is when I tell myself the ocean's dry
Feeling good is when I numb the boiling blood inside
And I can call a hundred thousand times
But your doubts won't fade away
And all the pictures hanging on your walls
Have a story that you can't make
(You can't make it all up, baby)

[Chorus: Johnny Franck]
Are you trying to hurt me 'cause it feels like I can't escape?
Don't see an explanation, it just looks like you're gonna leave
'Cause I'm dying to know that I'm not alone
And I'm dying to see if you're gonna go
Are you trying to hurt me or can you take the pain
Take the pain away?

[Outro: Johnny Franck]
Oh-oh
I need to feel alive
I need to feel alive
Roh!

I know it's been a while –have good reasons this time, tho– but I'm happy to be back sharing with you a lil' bit of music I like and hopefully putting out another blog post. I'm thinking of changing the things a little around here, 'cause this is supposed to be a blog, not a self published magazine or something of that style. So, you may see a change someday. As I said, I'm still thing about how to manage it.

Either way, hope you liked it. And don't forget to give Bilmuri a listen and follow him up. He's so good.
