This past week was an oddity in my life. I had to go to El Paso every day and way too early for my liking.
There's something about being stuck in line with a whole bunch of other cars waiting for your turn to cross the border that, when looked in detail, can make time feel awfully longer than usual. I think that's why most people keep their eyes on the phone nowadays. Or fight for their spots in line as if their lives depended on it. You do you.
It was, however tiring, also an opportunity to be in my car for a long period of time. You know what goes well with that? Music, for sure. Cars provide an ambiance that makes listening to music a way better deal than what it is really. I've even seen that Dave Grohl even listens to his demos and mixes in his car to get feedback on how they really sound. Anyways, it's therapeutic, at least for me.
So, this week's song of the week comes from nothing,nowhere. and it's titled "nevermore", but it's the one take version, meaning he played and recorded it live in, hence the name, one take. Now, the song lyrics are pretty dark and reference the feeling of depression, but the melody is what really caught me 'cause I fucking love those chords he's playing. Also, his voice is so fucking good on this take.
