Foreign Air will Save Us

There's often things you can't quite explain to someone else unless they're living / feeling / going through the same stuff as you are. You know, it's understandable that people won't get excited for something you cannot convey with words –and sometimes even if you can. Well, I suffer from this when I try to explain to people what Foreign Air is all about.

"Like having a musical fever dream" is what I would say in the end. They have indie, pop, electro and alternative influences that they use like weapons to blow your mind in every way possible. I'm not even kidding. They've uploaded the making of a song –that I like way too much, by the way– and I think that video would really get the point across on how the Foreign Air machinery works. They even throw a freaking hawk squeal in there.

After a little break post-tour, they're back with a new song that, in my opinion, is a little bit tamer and easier to digest, I guess –not necessarily a bad thing, though. The song is called "Save Us" and it's the first release after their debut album.

I think the video helps illustrate a point that lyrics may not address directly or may leave room for interpretation: social decay due and modern technology.

Lyrics (via Genius)

[Intro]
Who will save us?
Who will save us?
Who will save us?

[Verse 1]
Lost in the crowd
Where are our friends now?
Feeling so let down
Like we lost our crown
And the meaning, it goes
With everything that we know
It’s not lost on me, not lost on me
It goes, it goes, it goes

[Pre-Chorus]
Who will save us?
Who will save us?
Who will save us?

[Chorus]
Who will save us?
It's not for nothing, it's not for nothing
Who will save me?
We ask for nothing, I ask for nothing
We will promise you
We’ll work for nothing, we'll work for nothing
Who will save us from ourselves?
It’s not for nothing

[Post-Chorus]
(Who will save me?)
(Who will save me?)

[Verse 2]
The atom is split
All the monеy is spent
All the drugs have ran out
No morе water in the house
Every sound is hushed
We’re at each other’s throats
When silence isn’t golden
When is enough enough?

[Pre-Chorus]
(Who will save me?)
(Who will save me?)

[Chorus]
Who will save me?
It's not for nothing, it's not for nothing
Who will save us?
We ask for nothing, we ask for nothing
Who will save me from myself?
It’s not for nothing
I will promise you
I’ll work for nothing, I'll work for nothing
[Outro]
(Who will save me?)
(Who will save me?)

I hope you like it and have the courage to dig deeper in their music. They really are great and have a different style that I've yet to see replicated.

Until the next one!
